I’ve been lucky enough to visit Vienna multiple times, to go skiing in the Austrian Alps, hiking in St Anton in summer and exploring Innsbruck.
But there is still so much more to this beautiful European country, which I hope to one day explore.

Where is Austria? Austria is a landlocked country in Central Europe.
How to get there: You can find the cheapest flights to Austria via SkyScanner. You can also easily travel to Austria overland from neighbouring countries by car or train.

Electrical plugs in Italy: Types C&F, the standard ones you get in most of Europe – I recommend an international adapter so you can use it on multiple trips.

Best time to visit: The best time to visit Austria depends on what you’re looking for and where in Austria you want to go. Austria is a country with plenty of variety, ranging from beautiful cities to the stunning Alps. If you want to ski on the world famous Alps, you’ll have to visit Austria in winter.
However Austria is amazing also in summer, when you can spend your days hiking and biking in the green mountains, or wandering the streets of Wien. The cities you could visit at any time of year.
How to travel around Italy: For short distances the easiest way to travel around Austria is to rent a car and go on a road trip, as it will give you the maximum freedom and flexibility. You can also easily travel around Austria by train, which is what we did on our last trip.
Visa requirements: Austria is part of Schengen. Depending on your passport you can either travel to Italy without limitations or for up to 90 days without a visa.
