6 best villas in Bali with private pools

Kayumanis Sanur Pool Villas and Spa – $170 per night

It can be tricky at times to escape the noise of Bali’s southern beach resorts. At the same time, there are just so many affordable pool villas that offer surprisingly serene getaways for the frugal luxury traveller.

And I’m always happy to indulge. So one of our favourite examples is Kayumanis Sanur Pool Villas and Spa, found in hidden gardens completely cut off from the busy world outside.

Where days are spent relaxing under the revolving fans of the open-air gazebo, or just poolside at the villa.

But what I really loved about Kayumanis is that prices are all-inclusive (around 2,350-Rp. for 1 bedroom villas), with complimentary breakfast as well as high tea, fresh fruit, and even a restocked minibar every day.

So it’s hard to go hungry, or to even spend money. It’s without a doubt one of the best villas in Sanur!

Villa Kula – $150 to $220 per night

Villa Kula is a hidden gem in Bali’s Canggu area. Located just off the main road, down a quiet street, you’re sure to find a peaceful escape.

Three bedrooms, an open kitchen, and a private pool, this villa is seriously a slice of heaven. Each bedroom has its own outdoor shower, with plenty of jungle vibes.

You’ll find all of the basic amenities in the bathroom as well, such as shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. The owners are absolutely lovely, available to assist in scooter rentals or in-villa massages.

There is also a daily cleaning service included in the rate of the room. Villa Kula can be found on Airbnb (don’t have an AirBnb account yet? Click here to join and get 30 EUR off your first booking!) with the nightly rate ranging from $150-220 USD.”

Serene Villas – $275 per night

“Serenity can be yours with a stay one of the seven private villas found throughout the Serene Villa Estates in Seminyak Bali.

The villas range from one to three bedrooms; our week at the three-bedroom Garden Villa came at a cost of $275US per night for six guests, which included a daily breakfast.

The modern Balinese décor made the villa feel both luxurious and comfortable, each of the three air-conditioned bedrooms was spacious and came with an attached bath.

We fell in love with it all, the luxury of the space, the staff, the indulgence of relaxation and serenity, spending much of our time in the spacious open-air living area or in our small but ‘big enough for just us’ private pool.

Each morning we woke up to the quiet sounds of breakfast being prepared for us by our personal villa staff, we would wander into the dining area once the smell became to delicious to resist, Nutella, omelettes, fresh fruit and croissants, tailor-made breakfast bliss was found.”

White Stone Villa – $500 per night

“White Stone Villa is the most luxurious villa I have ever stayed in. Located in Ubud in Bali, about fifteen minutes from the centre, it is tucked away down a bumpy path surrounded by rice terraces.

It has three double, ensuite bedrooms in the main part of the villa, all overlooking the infinity pool and rice terraces.

Then there is another large double room down two sets of stairs with it’s own terrace onto the rice fields. It is about £400 per night and the rooms are cleaned daily as part of this.

A continental breakfast is also included. There is an option to have dinner at the villa for 50,000 IDR per person. The villa manager is always on call if necessary and can arrange transport if needed as well as massages at the villa.

You can book White Stone Villa on AirBnb (don’t have an AirBnb account yet? Click here to join and get 30 EUR off your first booking!)”

Villa Sungai – from $450 to $1,000 per night

Villa Sungai is by far one of the most luxurious places I have ever stayed at. It’s actually composed by two villas, Villa Sungai and Sungai Gold, one next to the other and each with their own private pool.

Both villas have three bedrooms, a private infinity pool overlooking the river and jungle, a dining area, a pool lounge area and multiple bathrooms. The infinity pools are the perfect spot for those Bali Instagram shots!

They’re part of the same group but are separate from each other (meaning if you’re visiting with a big group of friends you can book both villas and make a big party out of it, if you’re a couple you can book one of the villas and never see the people in the other villa).

The prices vary depending on whether you’re travelling during low or high season and depending on how many rooms you want.

Villa Sungai is located in Cepaka, north of Seminyak and west of Ubud. It’s a small town away from the main tourist radar, where you can truly relax and absorb the Balinese atmosphere.

We went for a walk around the town and only saw one other pair of tourists wandering around.

If you want to do some sightseeing the temple of Tanah Lot is a short 30 minute drive away from Cepaka. The service at Villa Sungai is outstanding, with the staff always being super friendly and available to help.

We also had meals included at Villa Sungai, these were a combination of Indonesian, Western and fusion between the two cuisines, and were amongst the best meals I had in Bali.

Sea Shanty Jimbaran – $800 per night

“The Sea Shanty Villa is a 4 bedroom luxury villa located in Jimbaran. It is situated down a quiet gang and is only a 2 minute walk to the gorgeous Jimbaran beach. The whole villa is huge with a large pool and the garden is beautiful.

All the bedrooms come with an ensuite with two bedrooms downstairs plus the kitchen/living space and two more bedrooms upstairs with another living area.

The average price per night is $800USD including taxes, cooked breakfast daily, airport transfers, live in chef and much more! Perhaps the most wonderful aspect of this villa is the staff.

Lina and Supri are such beautiful people and make every guests stay perfect. Suited to both families and couples, this luxurious villa has something for everyone.”

Have you been to Bali before? How did you find it? Let me know in the comments below! I’ve been to Bali twice now, the first time I’ll admit I didn’t love it, as we tried to see too much in a short period of time and it was overwhelming.

On my second trip however I avoided the touristy places in Bali, travelled also to the neighbouring islands to see the temples in Yogyakarta, snorkel with turtles in Gili Trawangan, and hike volcanoes in East Java and it was a much more enjoyable experience.

If you need help planning your Bali trip, check out my Bali itinerary and learn all about planning a Bali surf trip!

Staying in stunning luxury properties with pools without breaking the bank definitely helped me enjoy my time in Bali. I hope you find this guide useful in planning your dream trip to Bali!
